The Athens Group commenced construction of Montage Deer Valley in summer 2007. The approximately sixteen acre property is surrounded by ski terrain, just steps away from Deer Valley Resort. At 8,300' the property enjoys inspiring views of the Park city basin and the surrounding mountain palisades. Deer Valley Resort has achieved recognition as the number one ski resort in North America and Montage Deer Valley will be situated near the top of this premier ski and summer destination.

Montage Deer Valley's refined lodge is the perfect base camp for every sort of exploration. Generous use of stone, high ceilings and expansive windows with scenic views create the feeling of a grand mountain estate. The property is a 45-minute drive from Salt Lake City International airport, and just minutes from historic Old Town Park City and its Main Street restaurants and retail shops, home to the annual Sundance Film Festival.

Each of the 128 spacious guestrooms and 46 suites Montage Deer Valley will feature a fireplace, private balcony or patio, estate-quality furnishings and lavish bathrooms. The 35,000 square-foot full service spa will include club-style relaxation and locker areas with steam shower and sauna, an indoor lap pool, a fitness center, boutique, salon, and an extensive array of signature holistic therapies. A gracious ballroom, junior ballroom, several boardrooms and event terraces and lawns will accommodate meetings and events, executive conferences and seasonal weddings. In addition to the hotel facilities the property includes 81 whole ownership luxury residences on the upper floors of the resort lodge. Residents will enjoy preferred access to all of the hotels amenities and services.

Designed by HKS/Hill Glazier Studio, Montage Deer Valley is reminiscent of the great mountain lodges of North America. The Mountain Arts & Crafts style compliments the majesty of the Wasatch Mountain setting, seamlessly incorporating the building and its surroundings to create a finely crafted vernacular that is both timeless and appropriately detailed. Stone walls, dramatic roof forms, and variation of detail exhibited throughout the resort graciously gives character and compliment the mountain setting. Siding material, roof details, use of dormers, and complimentary color will continue the theme of variation as visitors view the project from various points around the exterior. Through the use of complimentary materials and detailing, this allows the composition of the buildings to remain dynamic yet cohesive.

Montage Deer Valley will be designed, constructed and operated in accordance with environmentally responsible "green" features that will minimize the resort's environmental footprint, in accordance with established LEED principles. The project has been designated as the country's first pilot project for the Environmental Protection Agency's ER3 (Environmentally Responsible Redevelopment and Reuse) initiative. Montage Deer Valley is planned to open in late 2010. The Owner of the resort is DV Luxury Resort LLC, a venture between affiliates of The Athens Group and Montage Hotels & Resorts, along with private investors.
